Poem: Day out

Boy alone on swing

Shorter than usual
Sat shrunken in silence.

Sullen like usual?
No, just restful with unfulfilled violence.

‘He’s nothing if not useful.’
I hide in sight of staring glazed eyes.

Rueful,
I sigh heavily lost in the size

Of my truthful allocation
Sat here;

Trying to be shorter than usual.
